Positivity: a matter of choice!

Positivity comes within; as defined by Amal, it is matter of choice, not influence. And, life brings on various occasions where you may feel sad or positive, but it is within you that compels you to choose one and that is what yields your final results.

And, this can fairly be observed from the biography of Buddha. His quest to unleash the reason behind agony ultimately propelled him to submit to the fate reserved by nature. Positivity is something that only comes after acceptance, it does not come with a eligibility criteria unless you create yourself.

Amal Academy has been a rejuvenating experience for me personally. I was stressed (due to PWs), I was entertained (fun activities, role plays, debates & so on), I was connected (fellows), I was practiced (with all such amazing opportunities) and it made me happy! However, just to choose one instance that stood out was while starting on the Mega Project.

Tbh, although we all grow up knowing/seeing the difference between us and the underprivileged; however, we never bother trying to probe practically into their umbrella and know what exactly they are struggling with. For me personally to visit some of them and interact explicitly about their needs and demands, made me contemplate upon the privileges that I am born with. This certainly made me more humble yet very much enticed to do something of value.

Of course, this realization was further magnified by interviewing these people directly and listening to their plight in these times of pandemic. Moreover, their level of enthusiasm and gratefulness while bearing with such circumstances was out of this world. This further makes the concept “positivity is a matter of choice” more concrete for myself, and their gratefulness was definitely contagious. If I have to look back and change something, then I would surely bring along more of my close peers to work along in this noble cause and feel the unimaginable.
