Edhi Foundation!

History never ceases to portray examples of those mystical people who at the pinnacle of ignorance, crime and lawlessness in the societies, came at the forefront to bridge these gaps with perseverance, determination and a vision completely welled-up with hope!

Edhi sb is one great example who started out from scratch having only a dispensary under his possession and ended up forming a profound foundation in the country that is currently extending its support to thousands of less-priviledged, orphans, deprived, ignored and needy segments of the society.

After his demise (May Allah (swt) grant him the highest of ranks!), his son became the pillar of Edhi foundation and has requested people for funds. No one can match the extent and courage that Edhi sb displayed for collecting funds. However, we can try our level best, while staying within our capacity, to reach out to the maximum number of people within our circle to raise funds for this foundation.

Therefore, our circle 5 conducted a meeting entirely based on this project and discussed different constraints and possibilities. As we all know, Covid19 has been a talk of the globe for the past one year and it has handicapped the mightiest of economies in the world. So, our mobility was primarily limited by it and we were merely left with our friends/families or perhaps very few strangers within our reach.

Now, the very first strategy that we mutually agreed upon was the digital campaigns. Thus, our group members made full use of the social media and posted on Fb, WhatsApp and so on. Campaign poster was drafted, approved after mutual consensus and shared accordingly.

On average, all of our group members were able to reach out to around 10 people. Amongst these people, 80% were already known and 20% were strangers. The organizations that our group members approached included mosques, PGECHS community center, Noor school system and few of the shops/bakeries nearby. Unfortunately, all business centers were complete rejections; few of them pointed that they already donated to some philanthropic organizations at the start of Ramadan.

However, despite all that, we were still able to collect funds from close relatives and family members, and we are trying our level best to approach maximum number of people without exhaustion. As of now, we have collected a total sum of 5000 rupees and are looking forward to add more to it in the coming week!
